Tiago Sousa is a Portuguese composer, pianist and musical activist. After releasing three albums – Crepúsculo, Noite/Nuit and The Western Lands – , this young man from Lisbon returned in with Insónia, a remarkable album of contemporary classical music centered around the piano.
Sober and moving, Tiago's compositions are nocturnal impressionist poems belonging to the same world as Rachel's' early albums.
Despite arriving very late at 7ème Ciel, due to a lost soul who threw himself under his train coming from Catalonia, Tiago played most of the songs from Insónia, and, for his encore, performed a delicate version of Eric Satie's "Gnossienne n° 1" as well as an extract from Felix Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words.
Using a piano, an electric guitar and numerous effects pedals, Sousa awoke the 7ème Ciel rooftop from a long and harsh winter.
