We launched the second season of the 7ème Ciel concerts with two expatriate French friends. One lives in England and the other on the other side of the world in New Zealand.
François Marry is the heart and soul of Frànçois And The Atlas Mountains. Along with a revolving cast of friends part of the burgeoning Bristol indie-pop scene, he has toured Europe since 2005. His first album, The People To Forget, is a very refreshing and promising record.
Just back from an American tour with Camera Obscura, Frànçois and Luc woke 7ème Ciel up from its long winter sleep with inventive, playful and wonderfully crafted songs.
Marry played tracks from his Brother EP and from the Atlas Mountains' forthcoming second album, Plaine Inondable. Luc presented songs which would appear on Blablabla, an album that he recorded the following winter.
