More than 25 years after its release, Catchers' Shifting EP is available on vinyl for the very first time. It contains 6 of the most infectious pop songs you were likely to hear back then.
The mid 90s weren't kind for bands who didn't see themselves as part of Britpop or grunge. It was a hard time to get noticed, heard or played on the radio.
Yet the Shifting EP landed Catchers a spot on the legendary Black Session on France Inter and it also made the 1994 Top 10 charts of both journalists and readers in Les Inrockuptibles.
The record includes Catchers' first singles "Cotton Dress" and "Shifting". Both tracks were later re-recorded for Mute, the band's debut album. It also contains "Summer Is Nearly Over", a perfect slice of blissful pop.
These brilliant songs still sound just as fresh more than 25 years on. As a New Musical Express journalist wrote back then: "Buy it or be forever impoverished."
Fully remastered from the original DAT tapes.
The record comes in a deluxe PVC sleeve with flap and is limited to 100 numbered copies.
