Inspired by years of wandering the streets of New York City, especially the borough of Brooklyn, Arnaud Sponar (Goodbye Ivan) draws an emotional map of his surroundings.
Mostly played on electric guitars (with a lot of feedback), Promenade is a dive into Brooklyn's history, from the European settlement era in the 17th century to its current gentrification process.
Hopeful and melancholic, frankly sorrowful at times, the album is a prime case of multi-layered soundscapes, something which Goodbye Ivan is a master of.
Promenade is a poignant ride with rare cinematic qualities.
The deleted LP is available now in digital format.
